DD has had a fever all day--update: ear infection

Update:
Her fever spiked to 103.6 at 5:30 am. Went to the ped first thing this morning and turns out she has an ear infection-her first one. She's on amoxicilin and a numbing ear drop.
Thanks for the kind words. Hope your little ones are feeling better too!

I woke up at 4am (pregnancy insomnia). As I was settling back to sleep, around 4:30 I hear DD stirring and making uncomfortable noises in her crib. I go in and she has a 102 fever. Allllll day long my poor little girl's temperature has been between 100.4-102.4. She barely ate any food, really didn't drink anything either. I tried to give her pedialite and she wasn't having that either. Although I froze it and she would eat some slush. We've done tylenol, cool bath, cold compress.
She's 14 months old. I don't think this is a teething fever-she's never had a reaction like this. I just feel so bad for her. She wanted to be happy and tried to play all day, but she just wasn't her normal happy self. If she wakes up w/ a fever tomorrow we're off to the ped.
Anyone had a situation similar to ours???

We are in the same boat. My DD also has an awful cough and runny nose. I feel so bad for her. She took an hour and a half nap on me. Chat Icon I feel so bad for her! I hope your DD feels better. We have just been doing lukewarm baths and tylenol all day. Hoping we both have better days tomorrow.

Re: DD has had a fever all day

I find Motrin waaay better for fevers. Could be viral, could be an ear infection etc. Hope she feels better soon.

Re: DD has had a fever all day

We had this last week. First the fever was 101, then shot up to 104 (even with Motrin & "tylenol"). We went to the ped and it turned out to be strep. You may want to take DC to the doc because we were on the fence about going ("he's just going to say it's a fever virus..."), but we're glad we went.

Hope your little one feels better! Chat Icon
