IVF ladies, anyone not respond to the meds?

I started my meds on friday.
gonal-f 300 and menopure 75, went in on sunday and they upped the meds to gonal-f 375 and menopure 75 at night and gonal-f 150 in the am. I went back this morning and they upped the night gonal-f to the max 450. He said I'm not responding to the meds . He's hoping I respond to the higher does, but if I don't he said we'll talk after my next apt about what to do. Has this happened to anyone? If so what did you do? I'm so upset about this and not knowing what's going to happen is making me more upset.

how were you suppressed before you started stims? i used BCP and was a bit sluggish at first. both times i came off BCP i was sluggish to start stimming but once i was on for a few days everything caught up. i ended up wtih 18 mature eggies (1 of which is my 4m old DD!!) after the sluggish start. good luck!!

I was on BCP for 13 days. Did they keep upping your meds? How long before you started responding? Thanks

ETA: Today is day 5 on the meds and I only have 6 small follies on the left and the right is quiet. He said my estrogen wasn't rising.

I am apparently a "poor responder" based on how it went with 3 attempts at IVF. With the cycle we tried in August, they doubled the follistim and the menopur about halfway through the stim phase, but it didn't make a difference. All but 2 of my follies stalled around or below 10 and we had to convert to an IUI. I was on lupron for that, so maybe that had something to do with it.

This most recent attempt, there was no lupron and no BCP. He did letrozole in conjunction with the follistim and menopur. I made more, but I still only had like 7 that were in the mature range and in the end not that many embryos. BFN.

Maybe you need a different protocol?

That sounds really frustrating... You said you did IUIs before this.. How did you respond for the IUIs?

I had a cycle once where I wasn't responding.. it was a my 5th injectable IUI cycle and the first one where I wasn't responding.. it was the weirdest thing. It just took a little more time.

My first ivf cycle, I responded poorly. We only got 6 eggs, 5 of which were mature. I am 29. I had to stim for 13 days. We only got 2 embies which ended in a chemical. They increased my meds half way, but it didnt make a difference.

My second cycle, I added acupuncture and they increased my meds. I did a bit better. I got 11 eggs, 10 were mature. We also did all injections intra muscular. Can you ask your doctor if that will help? My body absorbed it better than sub Q. (gonal f and repronex).

Hang in there! 6 eggs isnt what you are hoping for, but you just need one great emvie!
