My cat is driving us nuts, help!

My cat has been waking us up all night. She is always asking for food, even when her bowl has food in it. She knocks over whatever she can even when we think we "cat proofed" the room. One of us will get up walk with her over to her food bowl and then she proceeds to eat, this will happen numerous times. Right now her food is elevated so I was thinking maybe putting her food bowls on the floor? Any suggestions would be great because between Minxie and the baby we are exhausted!!

I would try to maybe put the food on the floor but it sounds like she maybe just wants your attention. Lenny was like for a while, he would jump on our dressers and throw everything off, and if we closed our door to keep him out, he would cry by the door and then shove his paw under it and smash the door back and forth! He still goes through a phase once and a while and it drives us nuts.

The one thing that seemed to work is at night before bed, I play with him for about 20 minutes to try and exhaust him a little and give him some attention. I run with him with a string and make him jump for it. I know it sounds werid, but it has worked wonders.

We feed our cats twice a day with can food. Then we leave dry out at all times because they'll help themselves when they are hungry. Some days I think they want more attention then others. If they aren't breaking anything then you may just need to ignore them.

My cat used to wake me up all the time by jumping up on furniture and knocking things off onto the floor or trying to wake me up Chat Icon I ended up having to keep my bedroom door closed at night.

I'm no help because my guy loves attention too.

I don't think this has anything to do with his bowl/food - I think he just wants attention.

My cat meows like crazy and begs to be fed every morning and then doesn't eat. I find that he only eats when we are in the kitchen with him. He just wants the attention of being fed - he has dry food all the time, so he is never starving.
