DSLR Camera Accessories?

So, my SIL has recently started doing photography on the side. She used to do it and has now started up again. I wanted to get her some fun camera accessories for Christmas. I did find this custom camera strap on Etsy where they embroider your company's name on the strap so I'm getting her that definitely, but I was wondering if there were any other fun accessories since then I can go with the whole camera theme. She does have carrying bag, so I don't want to get her that. Any ideas? What would YOU as shutterbug want?

Re: DSLR Camera Accessories?

etsy makes come cute camera stuff but if she already has a bag and you're getting her the strap, I don't know if you would find anything else on there. The mugs are really cute and different...what about a workshop or something like that? Or depending on her style and the type of photography she is looking to specialize in, some props or even another memory card?

Yeah, the only other thing I had seen was the soft sacks for the cameras but I can't see her really using those. I don't want to get her a workshop. To be perfectly honest, we're not very close and sometimes I feel like she takes things I say or do in the wrong way. If I got her a workshop, I think she'd think I was saying she wasn't good or something like that which would not be the case at all.

I was thinking of props, but I don't know if that's something she'd want to pick out on her own, KWIM? She's been doing a lot of kid's and babies and pregnancy photos, a few engagement shoots, etc. So there are some really cool props to get, but like I said, I'm hesitant. I'm thinking of getting her the strap and just a $50 gift card to the photojojo place since it's got fun stuff there.

But I'm open to more ideas! Keep 'em coming!

Ahhh, okay. I would go with the strap and the gc then to photojojo or even B&H. Its something she can definitely use and it shows that you made the effort to get her something she is interested.

Cool, that's what I was thinking. It's something different- I usually just get her clothes from VS Pink and she gets the same for me. But I feel like it's so thoughtless after 3 years of it. lol! Though I never mind getting a pair of VS sweats! Chat Icon Thanks everyone! If I have a little extra cash I might get her the mug, too, and just a smaller gift card. Chat Icon

Re: DSLR Camera Accessories?

photojojo! yay!

I like the lens mugs but they're not super useful.

Does she have a battery grip? How about a reflector set?

I just bought myself both of those things.

Looking for my "nifty fifty" next.

this place has fun stuff, I'd just get her a gift card though since you don't know what she might need/want.

BH has the best prices!!
