Child Health Plus
Hello,
I am due in April, but found out our insurance will only cover 48 hours (normal birth) or 96 hours (c-section) of care for the baby. After that the baby will be uninsured.
I plan on applying for Child Health Plus and am sure we will qualify (for the reduced premium amount, not Medicaid). Although we don't want to do it, we may have to add the baby to my husband's insurance (really expensive); however, I know that if a child has had insurance that was voluntarily dropped, this may hold up the Child Health Plus application process.
Does anyone have experience where they had a baby born, and put it on their insurance for a brief time (then terminated if once approved for Child Health Plus) to cover the lapse until Child Health Plus kicks in? I plan to go with Americhoice.
Please feel welcome to PM me if you are more comfortable.
Many thanks!
April
