postpartum thyroid issues...help

I was just recently diagnosed with postpartum thyroiditis. I am currently hyperthyroid. Has anyone else gone through this? How long did it last?
My doc is telling me that it is fairly common in the first year after having a baby. I had my daughter almost 6 months ago.

I am losing so much hair, but i dont know if it is just postpartum hair loss or because of my thyroid. I have never had thyroid issues before. I am 31 years old.
I'm a nervous wreck. Anyone out there who has been through this? If so please respond of FM me.

yes i'm going through this. i am 32, and i had a partial thyroidectomy when I was 30. I was 31 when DD was born 3 months ago. I was hyperthyroid before my surgery in 2010. Then I was on synthroid to keep it steady, but was on the hypothyroid side. I stayed on the same dose of synthroid throughout pregnancy. When I went to get my blood checked at 8w post partum, I was wayyyy down from where i was, in the hyperthyroid range.
Since it's common post-partum, my endo didn't adjust my synthroid dosage but I am due to go for bloodwork next week (will be 14w post partum i think lol). If it hasn't corrected itself they will adjust my synthroid.
