Honestly, my DD is 3 and aside from a little more independence (in a good way) I actually do not see much of a difference between two and three. I have not had to deal with the terrible twos or the terrible threes..........my DD has always been super mellow and very well behaved. (She is an easygoing kid) So far.........I have no complaints about either age, I have enjoyed them both. :

Ds was a bit wild at 2, turned 3 and turned into TAZ. It was an immediate overnight, wild child, fit throwing nutcase. And, from what ive heard 4 is worse, so who the hell knows. Chat Icon

2 was an f'in breeze compared to 3! My kids have learned to lie, push, bite, destroy things...all in 3 short months.

The day my son turned 18 months I will never ever forget it..is just when he was a total wild devil...I mean he was so bad that I swear I would panic when he would wake up in the morning..I mean he was no joke he was crazy....a few did I say a few good days here and there...it lasted I swear up until a few months ago..lol he will be 4 in march and he has definitely calmed down quite a bit..but he still has his moments..my daughter is 16 months and so far so good ..but for me 2 and 3 were really equally as hard

Re: Which age did you find "easier" 2 or 3?

2 was easier in that he was less mouthy and rebellious.

3 is easier in that he was able to do more for himself (potty, etc) but he definitely developed an attitude.

I am probably jinxing myself, but I felt that around 3 years 10 months he got better. He just turned 4.

We still have our moments, but he is a bit calmer and easier to negotiate with.

His brother I feel will be at worse at 2 than he was, because he is not talking like he was. He tantrums more and gets frustrated because he cannot communicate. Poor little guyChat Icon

For us, 3 was worse than 2, and 2 was bad. VERY VERY bad.

I'd say 2, he's gotten smarter so it's harder to get him to do things. So far 3 has been a total nightmare, I can't wait to have my cute little boy back Chat Icon

Re: Which age did you find "easier" 2 or 3?

they have their moments at both ages, but overall, dare i say i'm enjoying both ages. 2-2.5 for DD1 was a breeze, except for getting dressed quickly when we had to be somewhere. really, until a little before 3, she was easy. we hit a rough few mths just before and just after 3. but, we had so much transition going on, that in hindsight, i have to attribute it to that, and not her. i also had to step up and get a little more patient. once she adjusted and i got more patient, things got a lot better, and we are in a GREAT place. she is 3 yrs, 2 mths.

DD2-- pretty easy toddler, except for certain cranky days where she needs to be held or constantly changes her mind about what she wants or doesn't want. but again, i really can't complain. she's a really good toddler.

Only a week into the 3's, and 2 was a breeze compared to this! I need to keep telling myself that as my youngest is 18 months and heading into the 2's!

Re: Which age did you find "easier" 2 or 3?

DS 2 has never been an easy kid. At 2 he was slightly aggressive, which was tough. I think 3 and 4 were tougher though. The attitude and back talk was really bad. Now at 5 I can't even believe how far he, and we, have come. My little guy will be 2 in a few weeks. He's pretty easy going and is easily distracted when he goes have meltdowns. I'm guessing that 3 will be harder. But who knows, maybe I've paid my dues with the first kid and this guy will stay easy going.

I am so fuccked based on these answers Chat Icon

DS is almost 1 1/2 years old and the tantrums that he has recently started are just plain horrible.

Everything is "me, me, ME!!!"

Sunday was the first time we went to a store and he was just a screaming mess the entire time we were there.

Screaming, whinning, throwing, etc...oh my GOD.
DH and I were so flustered and distracted with each other that we had to leave because we couldn't even think about what we needed to get.

I'm not there yet but, when I was talking to my ped at DS' 2 year visit about what a monster he had become - his response was just wait until 3.

Ditto. I spoke to my ped and family and friends when DH and I were thinking of TTC number two. They all said...do not bring a newborn home to a 3 year old. While having a 2 year old and a newborn will be more demanding physically on the parents, a newborn and a 3 year old may push us mentally over the edge. We listened to their advice but now I will have a 1 year old and a 3 year old in the future!

YES. We're on the cusp of three and the attitude has been ridiculous.

3....so funny and so independent. My DS really never had tantrums...i just love that he is more independant, and understands a lot more.
