But you'd need to know that was the "formula" in order to convert it! Chat Icon

Yes, I grew up in France where it's the "proper" way to tell time.

I honestly just *THINK* of 13 as 1 after that its easy just subract 2 from the last number up to 20 10-2 which is 8pm

9pm drove me nuts so its just the odd ball at 21.

22 is the last number 2 minus 2 which is 0 .. add a 1 and its 10 Then 23 (3 minus 2 is 1 so its 11) and 24 is obvious.

Being back in San Antonio has made me brush up on it again BIG TIME. Its militarytown, usa! haha

huh? don't you just subtract 12?
Its not that difficult!

Yeah, pretty much. After 12 noon just subtract 12. But once you get used to it you just 'know' what time it is without having to do the math. I have my only digital wristwatch set to the 24hr clock.

Im too lazy!

I do math 'funny' no one knows why. I've always been this way. Ironically my 'strange math' as one teacher called it always works. To me my subtract 2 method is to me as easy as adding 1 and 1. Subtracting 12 makes me think as if its actually a calculation. I never question HOW I do math, only if it works. It has always worked for me.

That and my funny math got me through Calculus AP without much issue. I forget though people 'see' math differently than me. Well EVERYBODY does. Its a curse.

You don't want to KNOW how I do algebra haha Chat Icon

So I guess ignore my post and move on.. just the funky math gal talking in circles. (shouldn't post so late as I am now, but here ya go).

Yes. Hubbs is a retired Marine so it's mandatory learning around here.

Re: Are you able to tell time in military time?

Yes, my college class scheduling was in military time, even though I didn't go to a military school!
