Is it possible to make Sesame Place a day trip from Long Island?
I've never been so I really don't know. It looks like it's about 2.5 hours from me on Long Island. We would be going on a Monday. Is it possible to drive early in the morning and then when DS is tired of it, just change, get in the car and drive home? My DH says he is willing to do this I just don't know if it's reasonable.

It is totally possible! When my DD was about 8 months old we did a day-trip to Sesame. We left at around 6am...were there when the park opened. We parked in VIP and were amoung the first people to get in and so we beat the crowds for the first few hours. It got more crowded around 2 hours after we got there. We stayed until about 6pm and then made the drive home. My DD did great in the car. She slept on the way there and on the way home and that took the place of her naps for the day, and she had a blast there.
Ultimately I am sure it is fun to do a 2 day trip out of it but if all you can do is a day trip it is definately possible!

My friend did this last summer and said it worked out fine. I think they left NY around 7 am and got home around 8 pm. We are thinking of making it a day trip this summer as well.

We plan on doing it this summer. My mom is going to watch the new baby while we take dd to sesame. Its says its only an 90 mins outside nyc on their website. So I figure about 3 hrs each way. If we get there when it opens we'll stay 4-5 hours and than head home.

You can. It's not far into PA at all, 2.5 sounds right. It will be a long day though.

we did it without a problem.
Stopped at a nearby outback for dinner, threw the kids in pjs and headed home.

We live OOS. We have done Sesame Place as a day trip a few times when we were down visiting my parents on LI.

Yes, totally possible. My friend and I did it with our two kids last summer (no hubby's) We left early (around 8) and got home around 9 at night (and I live on the East End of LI)
