Re: How often do you bathe a newborn?

I bathe DS 3x a week so his skin doesn't dry out. From what I've been told so long as you keep their hands and diaper area clean, they don't need baths more often until they're crawling.

Re: How often do you bathe a newborn?

When DS was a newborn I only gave him a bath maybe twice a week, it was winter plus he hated the bath and would scream, so I would end up giving him a sponge bath between regular baths.

Re: How often do you bathe a newborn?

We do about 2x a week. You could bathe him every day during the summer, but it's not recommended to use soap on them daily because it will dry out their sensitive skin. So the days in between, you could just do a rinse with the water in the bath.

Re: How often do you bathe a newborn?

Once DD was about 6-8 weeks, we bathed her most nights. I feel like it helped her sleep better and calmed her at night. In the very beginning, maybe 3x per week.

I was told bathe only 1-2 times per week, so that's what I've been doing.

every other night in the beginning, but then as we tried to get a schedule going, we began doing it every night (we didn't always use soap every night). Chat Icon

Re: How often do you bathe a newborn?

As a newborn DD got a bath 2-3 times a week. Even now I only give her a bath every other night, unless she needs it, like aday today when she was sweaty and had sunblock on. And I only wash her hair like twice a week because it gets very dry if I do it more.

I've always bathed DD every night. Sometimes I skip, because I'm lazy, we have company, etc.

once she was able to get bath everyday ... it took a while for the umblical cord to fall off and completely heal ... we bath her every night cause we swore it helped her sleep thru the night and we refused to do anything different to mess that up Chat Icon

eventually we switched to every other day and now its minamlly every other day if not everyday.

We did this.
She was a summer baby but honestly-they don't sweat like we do.
And every diaper changed she was cleaned in the parts that really count! Chat Icon
