where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
I just transitioned my DS overnights from the R&P to the crib. During the day he used to take 1 nap in the snug a bunny and 1 nap while we are out. I have been trying the crib for naps but its a disaster. I tried black out shades, but its not working. I will not do CIO. Does anyone else let the baby nap in other places? If I put him in the R&P he goes right down but I feel it causes confusion at night.

Dd. apped in her swing until about 6 months then in her crib. I dont remember it being a hard transition for her but it did take a few days to get used to it. I say keep trying and stay and rub his. BAck until he falls asleep. Then after he gets it ur down your time in his room. Eventaully he will get it and go in on his own.

In her crib. It took a lot of work when she was 5 months old. For about a week, it took me 45 minutes to get her down for each of her naps. Once she "got it", I could just sing her a song, put her in her crib, and leave her to fall asleep on her own.

Did she sleep as long as she used to? DS napped in the snug a bunny or rock and play for 2-3 hours. He has been in crib for 1 hour 15 minutes and tossing and turning, taking turns screaming

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
Usually in the crib for the morning nap and in the car for the later nap if we are on the go. I transitioned her to crib naps at the same time I transitioned from R&P at night. Just stick with it, keep trying. I did have to do about 20 minutes of CIO one night, and maybe another 5 minutes another night, but those two short sessions worked wonders and now she can put herself to sleep if she stirs and wakes when I move her from nursing on my lap to the crib.

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
My sons are both older now (4yo and 15m) but this is what we did DS1 took his AM nap in his swing, it was the shorter of his 2 naps. And his PM nap was in his crib.
DS2 has always taken naps in his crib unless we are out and then its stroller, car, someone else's bed etc.
Have you tried a white noise machine? Both my DS's love it!

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
We do use a sound machine and I tried to let him CIO, but I gave up. He cried from 7:45-8:30 (he was exhausted rubbing his eyes), slept from 8:30-9:15 toss, turning and screaming. Finally I moved him to the swing at 9:45 and he slept soundly until 12:15! I guess tomorrow is a new day!

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
Definitely keep trying - at 6 mos most babies I know of nap in their cribs. With my DD her naps became very set and routine right at 6 mos and I definitely had to let her cry just a little the first few times for her to adjust. Just something they have to get used to like anything else. Before 6 mos I'd say nap in swing or wherever but honestly by 6 mos they should be napping in their cribs IMO.

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
DS was doing nights in crib no problem, but naps he would only do strolling or in swing. Around 3m, I decided no more swing, so transitioned slowly. Id let him fall alseep in swing and move him to crib when he was in deep sleep. Each day a little earlier, till I was just letting him get sleepy in the swing.
Also let them play in the crib during wake hours, make it a safe fun quiet place.

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
DD just turned 7 months old today. I still havent been able to transition her to sleep in her crib at naptime. She is a bad napper so I give up easily and just keep her in the swing!! She was sleeping in her crib at night though since 2 months without a problem at all. Go figure. i know I need to transition soon bc she is going to outgrow the swing very very soon!

Almost always in her crib. She was never a stroller napper and rarely slept in the car.

Re: where does your 6 month old nap if you are a SAHM?
dd is 5mos but has been napping in her crib since shes 4mos. transitioned her from bassinet to crib at three months. she always napped in her swings, at 4mos she wanted nothing to do with them. she loves her crib. do you have a mobile? i got her an 'aquarium' by baby einstein for her crib (it plays for 25mins) & i always put her sound machine on.
