RTF blackout switching to powder formula??
My DS drinks RTF formula. I bought powder formula in case there is a blackout. Will switching affect him at all? He is ten months old. He went from Breast Milk to formula without too much of a problem. But I was wondering if there is a big difference from RTF and powder.
Thanks!!

RTF blackout switching to powder formula??
my ds had the RTF nursettes in the hospital, once that ran our we had powder no problem......
BUT then when I got some RTF samples from the pediatricians office - ds had more explosions..... may/maybe not related...

Re: RTF blackout switching to powder formula??
I'm not sure but my friend usually feeds the powdered formula to her ds and just gave him the liquid a few days ago. He is 11 months old and didn't have any problems. I bought extra rtf 8oz bottles just in case we lose power.

Might make him more gassy but shouldn't otherwise effect him.

i can't give my DS powder formula, so I have 2 oz nursettes just in case... i usually use those for when i'm out and about.

Re: RTF blackout switching to powder formula??
I asked at the hospital and they said it was fine. It's the same stuff. We switched Brielle as soon as our hospital stash was out. She didn't have an issue. We have rtf for Hannah since she's only eating 2 oz and we didn't want to switch anything on her out of the nicu but we will switch if we can't get out for more rtf by fri/sat.

both DS and DD had major problems with powder.. the powder made them gassy and def more spit up because it was so thin.

There was no difference when we went to powder. If any DS preferred it. We use Dr Browns bottled do we didn't have gas issues.
