Leap pad for 20 month old?
Do you think it makes sense to spend 100 dollars on a leap pad for my dc who is 21 months? He is always grabbing our iphones and knows how to move the icons and asks to watch elmo all the time. Or is it a waste of money? TIA

Re: Leap pad for 20 month old?
I wouldn't spend $100 on ANY toy for a 20 month old!
Beyond that, my 5 year old DD got one last Christmas and my 25 month old son grabs it and "plays" with it but doesn't really know how to do anything on it except for make it make noise.
And then my personal opinion...a kid less than two is better served with "real" toys. Again, JMO.

My ds just turned two and has known his way around my ipad for a few months now. My sister in law got him a leap pad for christmas. I think he is going to love it! Use your judgement based on your dc.

No way. He wouldn't get how to play any of the games on there. Honestly, as proficient as my DD is with all things "techie" even at age 3 when she got her Leap Pad many of the games that were available were just too hard for her. I think at 21 months it would be a total waste of money.

Just an FYI.......if your LO loves the IPad he may find the Leap Pad frustrating and not fun. I think *technically* it's for ages 4 and up. Honestly, the games are hard and there aren't apps for the little ones like on the IPad. My DD (now 4, got it when she was 3) plays with it but doesn't love it, she prefers the Kindle Fire or IPad hands down. There is more for her to do from apps to music to movies.
