How to fix bedtime routine in 2.5 yr old

So we were in Ny for a week over thanksgiving and since we have been home bedtime has been he11. I mean screaming fit for well over an hour some nights. She just wants us in there. When we first got back I was like ok we were gone f or a while, which is not unusual for us but whatever. So I would be in there for 1 -1 1/2 hours. Taht was insane. So I said no more. Now she just freaks the f out. I hate seeing her so upset right before bed. She was goin to bed before NY at 8, we would read until 8:30 and she would talk and play until usually 9 and go to sleep so nicely on her own. Now forget it.

Any advice?

I had to do this and what i did is start earlier, so if bedtime is 8 I started at 7 the routine. this way if he fussed for an hr it was 8 and not 9. If that makes sense.

wish i knew we are in same situation.
some nights are easy some are hard.
i usually do an advent thing with her before she does to sleep and i have this meditation music she likes and she usually falls asleep...but than so do i.

DD is 25 months and we're going through the SAME thing, started this week. Tries everything to get us to stay in her room, something is freaking her out... had us convinced it was new teeth for a few nights and asked for medicine for "mouth boo boos"... she wants an extra snuggle at bedtime, rocking her in the rocker (as if she was a newborn) so we've incorporated that into her routine and that seems to have helped but I have NO idea what's going on!

It is not getting any better. I will try to strat earlier. We started at 8:30 I sat in there with her until 9:45 then said forget it she was almost asleep but heard the door and starting screaming for a while then finally stopped but was up until 11. This is a girl that we could not stay out later than her bedtime b/c she was so miserable a few months back.

Its insane.
