iPad alternatives?
Emily has asked for an ipad for Christimas. It is definately out of our price range.
Are there any good alternatives to the ipad out there? I was thinking a Kindle Fire because my FIL has one and I know you can play games on it as well, and she keeps saying that she just wants the ipad and that she knows Santa will get it for her because she has friends who got it last year!

We have a Nook Color (competitor of Kindle Fire) and my kids love playing games on it. I also have a bunch of educational apps like math flash cards that they like.

I have been looking into this too for our 5yo DS.
I would say the nexus 7.
Although I know alot of people who love the kindle fire for their kids too!

We have iPads and a Kindle Fire. The boys use the Kindle Fire for some games and Netflix. For less than 200 bucks it's decent alternative.
I would also consider the Nexus 7, seems like it has more options for apps.
