For those who have had inductions...
I just got a call from the doctor telling me that my induction is scheduled for January2nd (1 week past my due date... which is today) She said to be at the hospital the day before at 130pm... did anyone else to to the hospital a day before their induction? Is this just for blood work and stuff... or will I be there all night? Ill be able to ask the Doctor Friday when i see her, just wondering if any of you girls had any information... Thanks!

Re: For those who have had inductions...
I was induced with my DD and was told by my doc the earliest they were allowed to induce me was 1 week after my due date considering I didnt have any medical complications to go earlier. I was scheduled for Friday induction but they had me come in to start the process Thursday at 6pm. I was only 1 cm dilated and the protocol for that was starting cervadil (which usually stays in for 12 hrs) and then they give you pitocin to start the contractions after that. My doctor broke my water in between the two, but I'm not sure if that is standard protocol. I actually started contracted after the cervadil so I was only on that for a few hrs instead of the 12 bc my doc thought I was progressing nicely. He ended up being wrong and I delivered my DD on Friday at 2:23 pm via c section.

Re: For those who have had inductions...
For me there were two parts to the induction. The first night I was given cervadil which is placed for 12 hours and then removed to "ripen" the cervix. I was up all night with contractions. The next day I was started on pitocin which really got the ball rolling. Good Luck. Get as much sleep as you can!
