Re: Homie day cares vs. Large day cares
thanks once again girls. It deff feels good that there are older kids and infant can learn some things from them, but on the other hand, you just never know how these older kids might act. Some might hit or grab. They don't really understand. And I wouldnt want them to do it to my lo. I dunno its really really frustrating. I am due in a week. So we really need to make a decision soon because I need to go back to work. So we are just looking for a perfect day care and what is best for our love.

My 7-month-old has been going to a family group day care since she was 11 weeks. I liked this atmosphere for her at such a young age. The centers felt too factory-like for me. My daughter gets so much love and attention there. However, when she gets to be 2 or 3, I plan to send her someplace more structured and educational.
This for me as well.
DD is 8 months. From 3-6 she had a family member watching her but from 6-8 shes been at a in-home daycare.

I don't know if it has been said, but I find comfort in "big brother watching."

Just an FYI. The good centers will most likely have waiting lists for infants. Because they are only allowed a certain amount the spots get filled very quickly. I would look asap and put your name on the lists. We put our name on 2 lists figuring if our 2nd choice was available we could go there and always switch if need be when the first choice opened up. I ended up at a brand new Kiddie Academy and it took 2 months after my maternity leave for the other 2 daycares to have spots open up.

Agreed. Even though we did not go with a center, the ones that we looked at were full for infants for September when I was looking this time last year at 16-17 weeks PG.

The one in farming dale. They weren't even open yet when I visited but I got such an amazing feeling from the staff. I am so happy I made the decision I did.
