DOE childcare leave

I'm currently on childcare leave and I'm getting conflicting info as to when I'm due to return. I spoke with the UFT yesterday and they told me I'm due back the september right before DD turns 4. Her DOB is 9/18/11 so she would be 3 yrs, 11 months old. I called HR connect today and they said I'm due back the august AFTER her 4th birthday, so she would be 4 yrs, 11 months. Im guessing I take what HR Connect says to be the truth? The example they gave me was: If she was born in June, you'd be back two months later. But because she was born after the start of the school year, you are due back later. Does that make sense? I'm typing as my three year old is chewing my ear off, sorry, LOL.

I know it seems so far off, but it is goig so fast already and I'm trying to plan ahead financially, etc.

I always understood it as the September after they turned four. So essentially when they go to kindergarten. So the info that HR connect gave you.

BUT I have heard that it changed and now it's just 4 years. I tried to read the contract and I took it as you would have to return 4 years from the day your original maternity began, but I have never heard of anyone returning from child care mid year.

So really I have no idea and probably just confused you more!
