Dr recommendations-dealing with possible immune issues
I just finished my third unsuccessful IVF cycle and I am looking into getting a second opinion. My doctor did not do any immune testing, and although I do not have any reason to believe I have any issues, it is another avenue I might want to explore.
Any recommendations for doctors that are willing to look into autoimmune issues?
I have read about a Dr. B on here a lot. Who is he? does he not accept insurance? I am a teacher and I have Empire NYSHIP. I would like to be able to use my insurance to do this-actually that is the only way we will be able to continue on with treatment, we don't have any money to pay OOP.
Thanks!

Dr.B if you have out of network insurance, or Dr. Tortoriello at SIRM if you don't have out of network (he's in the city but worth the trip). They are the two gurus of immune issues. Good luck!

I can't imagine working full time and being able to go into NYC for appointments! How does that work?

Re: Dr recommendations-dealing with possible immune issues
Dr B is Dr. Jeffrey Braverman, located in Woodbury. I have no IF coverage so I paid OOP for my cycles but my immune bloodwork was covered. He uses ReproSource for his lab (mostly) so you could always call your insurance company and find out if they are an in network provider. They technically weren't for me but they were a part of MultiPlan so my insurance paid them at 100% of the multiplan rate and I'm supposedly being reimbursed the Safeguard program $ I shelled out each time (though have yet to see the $$$). I also have Out of Network benefits-- you can call the dr's office and ask them to check your benefits for you before you make an appointment anywhere- most of them will. Good luck.

Re: Dr recommendations-dealing with possible immune issues
I'm also a teacher with Empire insurance and the initial consult with Dr.B was $350.00 and the bloodwork was going to run over $3,000 dollars.

Re: Dr recommendations-dealing with possible immune issues
I have empire UHC and went to Dr. B..(he is the immune genius) ...he takes the OON benefits (after your deductible is met)..as far as the immune panel goes they will give you all the info on cost before they draw it..(if they do not ask to discuss it)my insurance didnt cover it completely and I had to pay i think like 500 oop...it was well worth it though because my worst problem in getting and staying pregnant was an immune issue.... good luck..
