1st IVF cycle - Any advice appreciated
This is my first cycle (and hopefully only) trying IVF. Friday I stopped BC and started Estrace. This morning I woke up and had cramps and I guess what would be considered spotting (although it seems like a little more than spotting... sorry TMI). I woke up not expecting this, figured it was not a good sign, and cried while I took a shower. I called the my RE's office as soon as I got out of the shower and was told that this was normal. I hope that it really is, as I am still feeling unsettled since I did not know what to expect. What else should I expect? Tomorrow I have an appointment and should be starting injections tomorrow evening. Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. This whole process has me a nervous wreck. TIA

I don't know what Estrace is, but I had breakthrough bleeding after I went off the pill. It was like a real period....it lasted 3-4 days and it was pretty heavy. The nurses told me it's normal to bleed right after you come off the pill.
Hang in there

Estrace is estrogen (generic is estradiol). Bleeding after coming off the pill is completeyly normal. I usually get full flow and go in for CD3 testing if i was on the pill 2 weeks or longer. GL!

u should have a bleed or a "period" after u stop the pill,it like starting ur body fresh for the cycle
injections might make u feel bloated, not sure what other meds u r on

Only advice I have is to just be calm and keep the eye on the prize. The injections sound super scary but they really are not well expept PIO which I cringe when I hear it. The stimulating drugs are super easy. Be prepared for lots of bloodwork & sonos. it felt like I was at the RE everyday for a whole week.
Good luck!!!

Re: 1st IVF cycle - Any advice appreciated
Bleeding is definitely normal. Mine was as heavy as my regular period and lasted about 3 days.
The best advice I can give you in to try to relax and stay positive. The injections are not too bad but I did end up with bruises on my stomach. They also made me very bloated which is not the most comfortable thing in the world! Lol
After my transfer I was on modified bed rest for 2 days and I did eat pineapple core for 5 days. Did these help? Who knows! But it didn't hurt!!
Try to hang in there. Wishing you lots of luck!!

Thank you ladies for all of your tips and advice. I went to my RE this morning and got the green light to start Menopur and Follistim tonight. I am super nervous about it but I know it means that I am one step closer. Thanks again for your help.

Ice your injection spots before you inject! When u start to do them day after day mine started really hurting. I think I was building up scar tissue! Take one day at a time! I was super nervous for the injections and looking back that was the easy part! Good luck
