Cruise vs All-Inclusive Resort
Planning a vacation for the whole family (aunts, uncles, cousins) about 25, including kids of ages 3, 5 and teenagers. We've done a cruise and loved it but deciding if we want to try something new with an all-inclusive resort or just go with what we know, a cruise. Any all inclusive suggestions??

Cruise vs All-Inclusive Resort
I've often debated about this exact topic and usually the AI wins. It comes down to money. With an AI, that's it your all in and with a cruise, there still seems to be some variable about cost while on the ship. I don't know if its really true but ultimately our family has ended up at an AI. Either way, I think you'll have fun

ITA. I've done several cruises, but now that we've done a few AI's, they win out all the way. A cruise is great, but you get so little time in port. I find AI's to be much more relaxing and easier to plan with a large group. On a cruise, you might have trouble dining together and it's just hard to even wrangle everyone together to do excursions. HTH!

Cruise vs All-Inclusive Resort
My mom and a bunch of her friends take a trip each year with their children. She's done cruises and AI, she finds the AI to be much more relaxing and fun.

Not a big fan of AI. Maybe because DH doesn't drink and I only do on rare occasions? I also find the flights to be more expensive to certain islands. I also like being at different places everyday. A week in the same locale doesn't appeal to me as much. I'm a huge cruise fan though.

AI hands down. The fact that the price includes everything and you don't have any real incidentals like a cruise is what wins it for me.

Re: Cruise vs All-Inclusive Resort
I would price out both. For our most recent family trip the price of a cruise to Bermuda with no air fare was considerbly cheaper than the cheapest AI I priced. I think its the airfare that kills you.
I recently stayed at Le Blanc , an adults only AI in Cancun, that was amazing. It is one of the palace resorts, and they offer a resort credit which can be used towards excursions and spa. I would highly recommend a palace property. Best of luck!

Re: Cruise vs All-Inclusive Resort
I have done both. I personally prefer resorts over cruises. No watching the clock to get back to the boats. I just found it much more relaxing. And there was much more freedom in the style of the trip. For a large group, I would consider if anyone could get sea sick. But if everyone loves cruises and you get an awesome price, then I don't see why that wouldn't work. If you decide on a resort, I have found that Mexico, Jamaica, and punta cana offer the best prices and short flights.
