Question about TTC and family
So I know I don't post much on these boards but I have a question. My husband and I have been trying to ttc for 6 months.
How do you deal with family members at functions keep asking you and what are you waiting for, why aren't you having a baby yet.
Obviously they don't know that were trying, but its so frustrating to have these questions asked to me a couple of days after I receive a negative results. Part of me just want to scream leave me alone, I keep getting a negative!!! Its very annoying!

Question about TTC and family
We're TTCing for over 2 years. I just divert the question. It's no one's business but your own. When my mom would ask me if we were having kids, I'd just tell her, not everyone has children. If it happens it happens. Stop pressuring me.
It sucks but people just don't know how to MTOB.

Thank You for your response. I know, I guess its frustrating because I've been hearing baby talk for the past 5 years since I've been married.
I don't know how people can ask these questions, I know some people are very open about this topic but were not.

Question about TTC and family
we have been trying for 9 month now and feel the same way as you. I only told 3 people and those people are not my family. Every time I get a negative I keep saying I want to tell my mom but I dont want her to feel bad for me. I am giving it a year and if nuttin then I will tell my family.
So you are not alone I feel so upset sometime also when people keep asking

I have a big mouth so my mom, sisters and close friends all have an idea we've started/are starting soon. I have a hard time keeping any emotions to myself so it's just easier for me to be honest with my loved ones and welcome them in to the process.

no-one knows we're been trying. I don't plan on telling anyone because some people just can't leave well enough alone.
Far as they know my child is my doggie, and I tell them that when they ask.

I was in that situation for #1, when we were ready to TTC I had to go to a RE and took a few months... we just said "eventually" when people asked us when we were having a baby.
Soon we are TTC #2 and we aren't telling anyone.

Luckily I haven't had many people ask but, to the 1 or 2 people that did I usually just say not yet but we've talked about it.
The only person that knows that we are TTC besides me and DH is my BFF.

I just say "we're working on it" and that usually shuts people up - gives them what they want to hear, and typically makes it sound like you don't really want to talk about it any more.

Ughhh I can so relate... my DD is almost 3 and thats all we here. When is baby #2 and all I say is "its in Gods Hands" and it shuts them up. Its so annoying!

I totally feel your frustration!!  It's definitely annoying!
I was kinda tired of everyone asking, and it started to upset me bc we kept getting bfns; so we told our families, close friends, and we told some of our co-workers. They stopped asking after that.
I still get questioned sometimes, "Oh, I remember when you got married, any babies yet?" I say the same as the prev posters..."We're working on it. When it happens it happens." Then they drop it.
I've been guilty of asking people the same thing after they got married, never even thinking TTC was so frustrating. NEVER AGAIN
