Re: Any dec/jan moms that work for boe?
I am a Doe employee. I am assuming you mean NYC. I had my baby last Nov 23. I took off until March 11. I was paid for the first 8 weeks (had a c section) unpaid for the rest of the time I took off. I had/have plenty of days in my bank. My summer pay was reduced.
I am not sure if that's the answer you are looking for. I do know that teacher who had babies in Dec came back in June I guess to insure so sort of summer pay.

Re: Any dec/jan moms that work for boe?
Im boe in nyc and due Dec. 30 with #2. I plan on going back after 6 weeks (8 if section). I did this with DD who was born in Nov.
I would def. call HR MORE than once to confirm and reconfirm. I would also call the UFT. I have heard some weird stories about people not getting paid. One of the girls I work with actually got a letter that she had retired while on her leave (which was longer than the 6/8 weeks). This is part of the reason I am going back right away. I'd be too anxious to deal with the nonsense of going off payroll.
