DNC. Not sure if this is exactly the right place to ask
I am having a DNC tomorrow because of unusual bleeding during ovulation.
Its not due to a loss, thats why I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, and I want to be very sensative to all of your feelings because I KNOW its different circumstances.
I dont know if a DNC is "different" in different circumstances.
Can anyone tell me how long it took them to feel better? What to expect? Were you uncomfortable after? In pain? Did you feel back to yourself in a day, 3?
Just trying to see what I can expect.
Thanks ladies. I appreciate it.

Since you dont have the emotional aspect of it the recovery will likely be a lot different. I had already had my loss 11 days prior to my DNC it was just some retained tissue and it really wasnt a bad recovery at all. I didnt even bleed that much. You may feel a little uncomfortable they arent exactly gentle during the procedure. But whatever general pain meds you normally take, Advil, Tylenol, etc will be fine

Thanks. The only issue I have is if she finds something and what to do about it. Thats what is worrying me.
And I'm sorry for your loss.

I had a D&C as part of my laparoscopy for Endometriosis. I had some cramping when I first woke from surgery. They gave me some pain meds in my IV which stopped it almost right away. After that, I honestly felt nothing. I was tired from Anesthesia and had some bleeding (not heavy at all) Pain wise, I was fine

Update: It went well. I am still waiting on test results but doctor seems to THINK this is all going to be hormonal. I had gas for 5 days. Its still a LITTLE bad (the gas). It also kinda hurt for those 5 days. I felt like someone scraped my insides...and they did :)
But It went well and well see what the results are. Thanks everyone.
