muscle pains after csection/pregnancy?

I had my csection two weeks ago on a Wednesday and 8 days later, I developed this bad pain in very lower back. I've been limping around for a week now, it's so uncomfortable. I don't know if it's related to recovering from pregnancy.... the csection ... maybe it's not related to either and I just pulled something? .... Has this happened to anyone?

I tried a heating pad, I tried just going out and ignoring the pain (that just made it worse Chat Icon ) .. and I'm pretty much at my wits end with this because if not for this pain I'd be able to get around easily and enjoy my day. It makes it so hard to get out, go up and down stairs, or even walk to the bathroom, or most importantly -- take care of my 2wk old!

Anyone else have this? I'm walking around like I'm 90... Sooo not cool.

I also had a c section, but That doesn't sound c section related to me. I know that I pulled my back like that several times since I had DD, but I'm positive it was just because I was bending down so much to pick her up, change her, play with her etc. I even did this like two weeks ago and was walking around like a 90 year old too and DD is almost 4mo!

What kind of pain is it? an ache, pull, sharp, burning? I've been having lower back pain since my c-section as well. It is more like an ache, but I am pretty sure mine is bc I have been using my back muscles instead of my stomach muscles for the past 2 weeks.

After my c-section the hospital had given me (and I forgot the exact name) something like a wrap that went around my entire mid-section that held everything in place tight and gave me a lot of support. Whenever I would take it off, my lower back would hurt so bad (I guess from the surgery and also from using completely different muscles to carry the baby around). Maybe you could try something like that to help with the aches?

A few days after I delivered DD, I developed horrible pain in my butt/thighs/lower back. I went back to the OB bc it was so bad, but only when i tried to walk. I could barely get around. It was so hard to take care of my baby, which was making me so depressed. It was alot like the pain youre describing. Anyway, they said it was sciatica, which can be normal after a birth (don't know about c-section though). It lasted about 6 weeks, ugh!! Maybe that's it. It sucked. Hope you feel better.

Re: muscle pains after csection/pregnancy?

I didn't have a C-section but I had gallbladder surgery 3 weeks ago. I had terrible lower back pain. My back pain was much worse than the pain I had where I actually had surgery.

I thought it was related to my surgery but both my surgeon and DH confirmed it was unrelated meaning my surgical area was fine.

DH told me my lower back muscles were probably strained from being used differently. DH is a spine surgeon.

You may also be experiencing sciatica pain.

I had terrible back pain after having my kids. It lasted 8 or so weeks. I was told it was from the spinal and it was normal. It started to ease up for me after a few weeks and it took about 8 weeks to go away completely.

Re: muscle pains after csection/pregnancy?

I had issues with my low back and feet after my c-section, but neither were related to the c-section. My back was a combination of lifting, carrying and holding the baby and walking around barefoot or in slippers (nothing to support my feet). The walking barefoot lead to, or contributed to plantar fasciitis.

I'm currently dealing with back pain as well, but I think it's from the spinal. The anesthesiologist tried and finally got the catheter in on the third tryChat Icon its been hurting ever since.
