Picky eater
Hi, I am new to the site. This is my first post. I am writing because I have a 13 month old who is a very picky eater. He has a milk protein allergy, so his eating solids started a little late. He loves eating sweet potatoes, bananas, cereal, oatmeal, pears, puffs and sometimes I can sneak some blueberries in. I have tried giving him chicken, regular potatoes, and he just spits it right out. Any one have any feedback? or experience with this? I feel like my poor son is not getting enough protein. Thanks in advance.

Re: Picky eater
Have you tried pureeing the chicken into something he likes? If he likes sweet potatoes, he would maybe like butternut squash? You could probably make a squash soup with some chicken and use an immersion blender. It may be enough to hide the chicken, but then you could go more and more chunky on the chicken til he gets more used to the taste.
Also try beans or lentils for protein if he seems to not be a fan of meat.

Keep at it. My ds would not eat table food at first. Just took time. I just kept giving it to him. He finally ate it.

Thank you so much! I actually mixed it with sweet potatoes and a little of his formula, blended it and he ate it. Yay!! Hopefully this continues.

Re: Picky eater
Have you tried eggs?
Also, add butter to everything :) babies need healthy fats.

I have tried eggs and he will pop it right out of his mouth. If I put it with something, he will eat the veggie and spit out the egg. I can't use butter because of his allergy :-/

Re: Picky eater
Oh yeah duh! How about adding coconut oil?
And half the time my dd spits out eggs too :/ like pp mentioned, how about beans? If I season them right, my dd loves it!
