Formula and insurance

DD was diagnosed with acid reflux at 5 weeks and was put on similac sensitive for spit up formula. My husbands insurance is pretty good so we figured why not try to get it covered? We called edgepark and they took care of everything....contacting the ped and insurance. And we got it covered 100%!

I just wanted to post this because some people don't know. It is worth a shot trying your insurance! I always thought they may only cover Alimentum. I know not all insurance will do this, but if they will cover it its amazing.

Re: Formula and insurance

How does it work with the insurance -- they reimburse you when you buy formula?

Formula and insurance

That's great!! Same thing happened with us- we were on Nutramegin and were reimbursed. All we needed was a note from the doctor.

you are so lucky! my twins nutramigen was not covered so we shelled out $500 a month for it. they would only cover it if they were fed thru a feeding tube!

Re: Formula and insurance

With dd1 all we had to do was send in receipts of formula and they would reimburse us. It was for any type of formula, it didn't matter if you had a dr note or anything. It was through our prescription plan of our insurance. It was amazing. Im not sure if we have that coverage with dd2 I should call and check.

You are very lucky. My daughter's Neocate wasn't covered, and it cost us a fortune.
