I have GHI and am very happy. With DS we paid somewhere around 200 for our entire hospital stay at North Shore Manhassset,

UghHh - I'm not so sure about mine anymore - I have Aetna and just received a bill for $200 for a routine blood test. I am DEF fighting this.

It's REALLY hard to answer a question like this - each plan, say Aetna, has so many different ways that you can set it up, and depending on WHERE you are getting your insurance (not just state to state, but also are you getting it through a job, through the exchange, through a broker, etc)... you really can't go by what other people have, you have to seriously sit down and analyze what's being presented to you.

Yes thank you, we have been looking at a few different ones ... We have BCBS with a high deductible and we are always paying for blood work, apts etc so are hoping to get something better that we can afford!

A lot of doctors are starting to get away from the BCBS plans, but who knows with the future... I like United Health and Aetna, they tend to have very complete plans! (If you can't tell, this is what I do and have done for over a decade, if you have anything questions, feel free to FM me!)

I agree. I used to have Aetna and my bloodwork was almost always covered 100%
Edit: I loved my Aetna HMO plan and was sad when my employer dropped it. But now my plan includes out of network coverage which my old plan did not, and I have really been using it so I would consider looking for a plan that includes OON benefits

I have BCBS through my job and the only thing I paid when I was pregnant was $20 for my initial prenatal appointment. I had unlimited sonos and I never pay for any blood work. I also did not have to pay anything for my hospital stay after I had DS and I was there for 5 days with ds after my cs.

Each plan is different even within a company. So you can't just say BCBS or united healthcare or ghi.
Employers pick and chose what they want to cover based on cost.

same. I've had GHI for 10 years through the NYCDOE and i've never had any problems.
