Plus Size non FTM - question about stay in hospital

I'm a plus size expecting twins, and wanted to know from other plus size moms (non-FTM) what the situation was at the hospital.

I'm having a c-section - and everyone is saying how great the mesh unders are and just use those...did you find that they're comfortable or did you prefer your own?

Same for the night-gowns/shirts the hospital provides?

Just trying to decide if I should bring my own stuff b/c I know it fits and is comfortable vs. using what the hospital provides.

Plus Size non FTM - question about stay in hospital

I know you said non-FTM but I plan on bringing Depends disposable undies b/c I'm sure the hospital ones won't fit me and I don't want to ruin my undies.

They cut the sides of the mesh undies for me and they were fine.
There was one style of gown that fit and one that did not. I asked for the one that was more comfortable.

This was at Winthrop

I don't remember mesh undies with my first. I just bought a cheap pack of Hanes granny's.

I was only in the gown the first day/night and I did not have undies on because of the catheter. I think I had one for the front and back.

When they removed the catheter and I was able to shower I changed into my regular cloths and regular undies (granny panties!)

Crashing. I only used the mesh underwear once. I didn't like them. But I had bought a cheap pack of underwear from Walmart and had those with me. I likes those much better.

I had the exact same experience! Get yourself comfy granny panties especially if you end up with a csec you will appreciate them!

i'm a plus size mom and delivered at winthrop. the mesh undies fit just fine (with some stretching) and i wore them my whole stay. i did bring my own pj's/nightgown and i highly recommend doing so. when you are allowed to get up and shower, putting on your own clothes will help you feel a million times better! plus after a c-section they make you walk the halls a lot so it's nice to have on your own clothes and know you are covered up. congrats!

No sure where you are delivering, but, Stony Brook no longer has the mesh undies. I was sad, I was looking forward to them.

Totally agree with both of these. I bought a pack of Hanes undies from walmart and threw them out after usage if they were stained. For the $11 it cost for a pack of 7 I thought it was worth it.

I had the gown on the front of me and a second on the back for coverage before the C/s.

Thanks so much ladies; I'm delivery at NY Presbyterian/Cornell...and ordered some granny unders that I'm okay with throwing out. Added a night-shirt (since I have a feeling I won't want to be in the gown) too long.

I had a c section. The gown was fine. I wasn't wearing undies until I put my own on because of the catheder. I bought undies from Lane Bryant that were three sizes bigger in dark colors but I really didn't bleed too much. I loved wearing my own night gowns because I could use the bathroom much easier.
