IVF Meds
I'm starting my first IVF cycle and paying OOP. I received my meds and noticed my dr. ordered 20 vials of gonal-f (75) and 10 vials of menopur 75iu. I'm not starting till mid-April so I am not sure of the exact protocol we will follow. I guess my question is how many days are there of stimming and is 75 iu of gonal f and 75 iu of menopur a low dose. I see that many of you are of 150 iu of gonal f and 75 iu of menopur.
I'm just scared that it his won't create many eggs and we don't really have the money to go through with another ivf if there are no embryos to freeze.
I know if might be jumping the gun but just curious what any of you might have to say regarding this dose.
I'm just tubal issues and my DH s.a. Came back within normal limits.

IVF Meds
How much you use will really depend on your response. I responded well and the amount of meds you had would have been more than sufficient for me - I actually would have had leftovers.
We were dealing with MFI.
Good Luck!

Re: IVF Meds
Since you are oop, if you need more meds your re can order you more. IMO always a good idea to order less when oop and order more if ncessary since the meds are so expensive. I paid oop also and shopped around for meds. I found kraupners to be the cheapest and if you over order you can get a refund for the unopened/unused vials(depending on the type of med). For my 3 ivf cyles i always had more meds than necessary and was on very low doses. I typically stimmed for 10-12 days. Good Luck!!

Re: IVF Meds
I was on a higher dose of gonal f because I have a high FSH and low AMH. Based on my numbers, my RE was expecting me to have a slow response to the stims. Since your dose is lower, your doctor is probably expecting you to respond well. You'll have to go for monitoring visits, so they can adjust your dosage if need be.
Good luck!
