Breast changes question for Moms
So, during pregnancy we all know that our nipples and aureola enlarge and darken; but what about after birth? Especially if you exclusively bottle feed (not sure that even matters)? Do they ever decrease in size, and do they ever lighten up back to their pre-pregnancy color? If so, about how long does that process take? Many thanks to those who can explain!

Breast changes question for Moms
I had a very early mc last year, and my boobs never really changed back, except for the size. This time around the only change I am experiencing so far is that they are bigger, but the darkness and nipples never really went back to normal before. Actually I'm really enjoying this time because they not only look a little bigger, but I think they're perkier too!

Mind never really changed much so I can't really say. They definitely never darkened. I kind of wanted them to since they are so pale! LOL

Breast changes question for Moms
Mine were super dark while pregnant. I'm almost 5wPP and have been pumping and I think they've gotten a bit lighter.
My nipples on the other hand are wrecked b/c I do pump every 3 hours and have been since I've been home from the hospital. And they hurt like someone sliced and diced them and then poured salty lemon juice over the open wound. But that's another story lol.

Re: Breast changes question for Moms
I EBF and my nipples eventually lightened...but since I BF Dd until she was 2 and I got pregnant w/#2, I can't say if they shrunk back to normal or not... Mine didn't but I haven't given them a chance between being pregnant and BFing.

Have you tried the medela hydrogel pads for your nipples? They really help with healing.

Those, the lansinoh gel pads, lanolin, coconut oil, breastmilk. I've tried lubing up the flanges with coconut oil as well.

I haven't had my baby yet but my friend said her color and size went back to normal after giving birth.
