Uterus bulge and swelling after c-section, is this normal?
I initially posted this question in the pregnancy section, but was advised to try under parenting, which is what I'm doing now. I had a c-section almost 4 weeks ago, and while I'm having no problems with the incision, what I do have is a very hard, swollen bulge starting beneath my belly button, and ending just above my incision. I'm assuming this is my uterus obviously, and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing anything similar?
I know that during a c-section they cut the uterus, so I'm hoping this is part of the healing process, and if so, I wonder how long it will take before the swelling goes down, and I stop feeling that hard bulge? Many thanks in advance for advice and replies!

I never noticed this but it does usually take about 6 weeks for everything to go back to normal. I wouldn't worry yet. If you're experiencing pain, then I'd call your OB.

Re: Uterus bulge and swelling after c-section, is this normal?
I'm 7 weeks out from my cs and have something similar. My scar looks awesome (better than my first time around), but I have hard lumps along what I think must be my internal incision. (Not at all visible from the outside). I first noticed 1 grape size lump around 4 weeks, and since then more have developed across the line of my scar, about 1/2 inch higher than it. (much lower than my belly button). When I first noticed it, I went to my Dr and he ruled out hernia and infection, but said it could be scar tissue or just the way my body was healing. He said he didn't think hernia bc it was hard and hernias usually protrude out and are softer.
I'd check with your Dr, though just to be safe.
ETA, my uterus has returned to normal and is not swollen, it's just this hard lumpy line that I feel when I press against the area.
