GD girls... fasting numbers help
Ok so I have been doing the diet since I found out but, 2 weeks later started testing. This is my 4th morning testing for fasting numbers. I got 91, 95, 84 and 93. I need to be under 90. What did you ladies eat, time you ate and how many hours til you tested in the morning? Also my monitor says Im still in range with all my numbers and that they arent high but, I guess its what my doc wants. I go back to him 3 weeks from my CS date and dont want meds so late since the meds will take a few days to kick in plus my numbers will start to drop being Im at the end.

You don't have a lot of control over your fasting numbers. I eat a slice of whole wheat toast with peanut butter, or a Nature Valley Protein bar, or an ounce of cheese and 5 triscuits as my night snack. I eat it between 9&930 and test my numbers around 7am. I'm always between 70 and 82, but take 2.5mg of glyburide at bedtime. Mine were stuck in the high 90s before I started glyburide

GD girls... fasting numbers help
I had so much trouble with my morning fasting numbers. I finally for them under control the final 2 weeks I was pregnant. However I was up to 55 units of NPH every night before bed.

GD girls... fasting numbers help
I was always in range, but higher numbers 2 hours after dinner (which was usually close to my bedtime) definitely went along with higher fasting numbers for me. I always tried to get a good number after dinner (not near the cutoff). Taking a walk after dinner helped. Some people need a protein snack at night to lower their fasting #. It depends what is causing it to be high.

Re: GD girls... fasting numbers help
I was told to up my snack to a small ice-cream. I ate the little Hagan Daz choc, vanilla or strawberry 3.6 Oz and my numbers went down. I didn't have to check my sugar after post snack so I'm not sure what that was but it did help my fast #in the am
