Where do your older acid reflux babies sleep!?
Tried to do motified CIO last night to get DS out of the rnp which was a complete failure/disaster. He didn't cry that much ( maybe only 15 min with me going in every few min to console) but he projectile vomited 3 times! The whole coming out of the nose, choking, kind of reflux vomit. Needless to say we were back in the rnp and up every couple of hours.
I had the crib wedge in but it did nothing because he always managed to slide down. He is definitely too big for the rnp but he does the best in it for his reflux so I'm at a loss now of where he'd be most comfortable.
Where do you put your 6+month olds to sleep when they can't be flat!?

Wow, is he on meds? DS slept in his crib and I just had a rolled towel under the head of the crib. Once he started to roll around the crib, though, we went flat and he was fine.

I am so sorry -- that sounds terrible. I would actually raise the crib on stilts if possible. I had the wedge and it just made him slide down as well. Can you let him CIO in the RNP? Once he has figured out how to sleep on his own maybe putting him in the crib wont be as much of a shock. If he doesnt get so upset maybe he wont throw up as much. :(

DD suffered badly but was controlled with Zantac and had no issues sleeping flat by 6 months (she was on Zantac past 12 months).
If your child's reflux controlled by medication?

DS slept in his infant-toddler rocker at that age when his flare ups were bad. I tried the wedge and all that but he was rolling all over the place... He was pretty good while on his meds. But when he started to flare up a lot, I knew it was time for a dose adjustment.

Re: Where do your older acid reflux babies sleep!?
I had him on Zantac up until a month ago, then weaned him off as per my drs suggestion. He has been doing SO well without the meds so I'm upset that happened last night :(
He's back in the rnp now but I really need to get him out of it ASAP, he's starting to roll over in it when awake
I think I'm gonna try again on Friday, but this time will give him more time to digest before putting him down ( probably closer to an hour)

Sounds like he's not ready to be off the meds. How old is he?
I'd suggest putting him back on the meds and trying to take him off again in a couple of months.

I agree about the meds. Hopefully putting him back on will alleviate and you can try the crib again.

Re: Where do your older acid reflux babies sleep!?
I put few bricks under one side of my DD's crib and then to "hold her" in place, then I took a thick beach towel, rolled it up, made a U shape, and placed it under the crib's fitted sheet. Her butt was on the inside of the U scoop. Hope this makes sense and is helpful..it worked for me. I was so desperate, i was going to buy these crazy contraptions online then I came up with this idea and saved myself a ton of money

Re: Where do your older acid reflux babies sleep!?
My DS went off the Meds at around 7 months. Once he rolled over and slept on his belly, his reflux never bothered him at night. I also tried to keep him upright for at least a 1/2 hour after his last feeding before putting him to bed.
