Pain after HSG
I had the hsg test done this afternoon, and all went well. Tubes are clear and everything looked perfect. I had a tiny bit of cramping during the procedure, but felt overall fine afterwards.
Now (4 hours later) I'm in a lot of pain. My whole lower abdomen is sore and it hurts to walk. Is this normal or expected? The doctor didn't say anything about being in pain after. All he said was to watch out for heavy bleeding and call my doctor if that happens. Since I have to go in tomorrow for monitoring, I'll mention something if the pain persists, but I'm nervous that I'm having a reaction to the dye. Dr. Google is not calming my nerves either

Were you put on antibiotics prior to the HSG?
You are at risk for a pelvic infection so many REs give a prophylactic antibiotic for protection.
When I had my HSG, I had cramping during the procedure but felt fine afterwards. Everyone can have a different reaction though.

Yes, I've been on doxycycline since Monday. I also felt great after, but it's knocked me off my feet now. The heating pad is helping. I just took some more Motrin, hoping that will help

Like you, I had no pain after the hsg. Went back go work felt totally normally and then out of nowhere I was doubled over in pain and could barely walk. No fun. Feel better.
