Baby wearing moms....
Help! Can you recommend your wrap/carrier? I'm looking for something for Ds who is 4 weeks old and almost 12 lbs. I would be using it mostly in the house while I sit on the floor and play with my 16month old dd. My concern is Ds being too hot all wrapped up in me since he seems to always be hot naturally.
Eta - Did anyone decide to baby wear bc of colic?? If so, did it help?

Love my Ergo. You'll need the infant carrier in the beginning, but it's easy to use and my DD loves being worn. I wear her around the supermarket, short walks, and sometimes to BRU.

I'm with ergo too. I like that it can be used multiple ways. I'm going to try and start using it on the hop soon. I would have like to use a wrap but I don't have the time to figure all of that out.

Re: Baby wearing moms....
The ergo didn't fit us great (me, DH and DD are all really tall) so we have a Tula and we love it.
A ring sling might be a good option too. I find it easier to sit in in ring sling than a carrier like the Ergo, since it buckles around your hips. And since it only has one layer, its cooler than a wrap, especially if you have a linen one. I have a Sakura Bloom and I love it.

I had a sling wrap I used for the first 3-4 months. Then went to the Ergo!

Re: Baby wearing moms....
I think a ring sling or lightweight wrap is your best bet if you want to be on the floor. I wear my 8 month old almost exclusively in a Tula now, which is a soft structured carrier like an Ergo, but it is more for when I'm on the go and standing up/moving. You want something that molds to you a bit better if you are going to be down on the floor. Also, for tinier babies slings and wraps give more support. I exclusively wrapped until DS was 3 months old. A moby will be too warm for summer, so as a PP mentioned perhaps a linen blend would work better. Wrapping does have a learning curve so a ring sling might be a good choice. Check out sleepingbaby.net.

Re: Baby wearing moms....
I tried both the ergo w/ and w/o infant insert and the Moby and the ergo worked best for us.
ETA: was not for colic but she napped better and more consistently in it than anything else.

Baby wearing moms....
A very inexpensive but great carrier is the Infantino Mei Tai. I just got mine for $27 w/ tax from Target.com w/ in store pickup. It's very easy to use and you can't beat the price! I like it much better than my Ergo & Moby wrap.
I also like ring slings.

I also have an infantino, but a cheaper model that was only like $18 from Target- but its only a front carrier. I LOVE it

Re: Baby wearing moms....
There are a lot of good options here but if your e unsure, you can try going to a baby wearing meet up to try other moms' carriers and wraps

Re: Baby wearing moms....
Love my Ergo! But my DS is almost 4 months & we just started really enjoying it. Also, I don't think uncoils sit on the floor while wearing him in it. I think a wrap would be better for that, but I don't have the time or patience to figure them out.

There's a facebook group that has meetings every week or biweekly.
