Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
I was diagnosed with MTHFR-I believe heterogenous. Three REs said just extra folic acid and one monitored my homocysteine levels every month. Now that I am pregnant, my OB is concerned that I am not on lovenox. I was never told to go on this from any of the REs that I have seen. He wants me to send my bloodwork results asap. Is it common to be on lovenox with MTHFR? I had placental issues and IUGR with my DS so he's concerned. Thanks!

Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
I have the single version (is that Hetero or homo I don't remember) but I'm only taking methylinated vit b and folic acid from my acu. She started me on it the cycle before I got pregnant. It's the Xymogen brand methyl protect.

Re: Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
I am hetero also
With my first pregnancy (son was born 2010) I was put on lovenox.
With my daughter (born 2013) the protocol changed and I was not put on lovenox.
I was told it was no longer necessary as a precaution for hetero cases.

Re: Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
I have MTHFR hetero, and I know most doctors now will not put you on lovenox for that. But, Kofinas does, and after some wavering I decided to go with his full treatment plan because I wanted to do everything in my power to avoid another loss and didnt want to blame myself if anything happened. I also have Crohns disease so I cant take baby aspirin which many people take instead. I dont know if I really need it, I think I probably dont, but would rather look back and wonder if I really needed it than if it would have saved another baby...

Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
I have both copies of mthfr and my RE put me on lovenox, metanx, and baby asprin daily. When I got discharged from the RE my OB had me go to a high risk doctor for a consult to make sure I still had to stay on it and they said yes and growth Sonos every four weeks. I am 32 weeks now and my insurance company just stopped paying for metanx so now I'm taking extra folic acid 3xday.

Are you tested for MTHFR in pregnancy? My OB never mentioned it.

Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
I have mthfr homo and my hematologist said blood thinners are not needed unless you have a prior history of blood clots.

Re: Are you on lovenox for MTHFR?
If you tested the entire population, most people would come up positive for at least one copy of MTHFR. It's extremely common.
Eta- it's your history with your pregnancy with your son, not the mthfr diagnosis that would concern me, personally.
