Re: When do you find time to exercise
It's not the cheapest option, but I bought an elliptical machine. It's down in the basement. I do my workouts while my youngest naps and my older 2 play video games or watch TV during "quiet time". During the school year I would get up before them and do it.
Owning a machine is cheaper than the gym. And when I get a chance I throw in toning exercises.

Re: When do you find time to exercise
I do a 25-30 minute workout while my 10 month old does a morning nap and my 4 year old watches TV. Jillian Michaels or a HIIT workout.

Re: When do you find time to exercise
Variety is key for me
-I run with a triple stroller -If one wakes up early I take them in the single jogger before dh has to go to work -I go to a gym with babysitting -gym alone dh puts kids to bed -gym alone on sat am
I am not good at working out at home. We have a spin bike and I never use it!!

Re: When do you find time to exercise
One thing i try to do is to incorporate exercise routines while i am watching tv. For example, during commercials is a great time to lift 8 pound weights for your arms. It makes time go by quickly and soon enough you will be toned. Also, lunges during this time or abs is another suggestion. Switch it up for fun. Lastly, i am a firm believer in conscious eating... No snacks, soft drinks, fruit juices etc in the house. Its difficult but doable . This alone will help in keeping fit.

Re: When do you find time to exercise
My kids are 2 & 5
Right now for the summer, my oldest does not like to go to the gym daycare. I understand - a lot of the toys there are for younger kids. So I just basically tell them I am putting on a DVD . I will try to set them up with a few toys/crafts, etc but they usually only last a few minutes. My 2 year old will also try to get me to pick him up while I am working out but I just tell him "no".
Some days they entertain themselves for the entire 30 minutes. Other days, I am breaking up arguments and crying but I just do the best I can. But also, a lot of times, my 5 year old joins me for a few minutes. It's fun to do together.
In September I will bring my 2 year old to the gym daycare while my oldest is in school.

Re: When do you find time to exercise
I go either when my DH comes home or when my mom is not working. My gym's daycare only takes kids starting at 6 months so DH & I have to stagger our gym times. I am a class person so I work around the class times.

When do you find time to exercise
I go when DH gets home from work. I keep thinking about going during the day and using the daycare but I'm afraid 18mo DS will scream when I try to leave him.

Re: When do you find time to exercise
I used to workout 5 times a week but don't workout anymore bc I just don't have the time to... My commute is 4 hours so when I come home there's no time for working out... I've been slowly getting back into shape with diet alone... I am strict on what I eat, drink tons of water and I do cheat here and there- 11 months later... I'm finally seeing great results.... Finallyyyyy lol

Re: When do you find time to exercise
DH and I take turns because he's big on the working out as well. With me, I didn't gain a lot of weight pregnant and I lost it right away - like left the hospital in my regular clothes so I was fortunate BUT I have always worked out and I do need to keep on top of it and consistent. Ironically, I feel like I put on an extra five pounds like recently -- funny how I could go through the entire pregnancy, lose it all like nothing afterwards, and even lose additional in the first six months of my son's life and THEN around like month eight I started to allow myself to slip a little! Nothing I do EVER makes sense.
Anyway, I find that in the evening works best for me but you know yourself best - are you a morning person or an evening person? If I was a morning person I would get up and run at 6am before Julian wakes up (between 7-8am). I would run like 30 minutes and do my 30 minute Tracy Anderson DVD (I'll tell you about that in a few - amazing!). But since I'm a night person I go to the gym after Julian goes to bed (around 7pm) - I usually get a few things done around the house and hit the gym between 8-9pm. I do intense intervals, spike my heart rate, on the elliptical and treadmill. Then, I come home and do my Tracy Anderson DVD.
Tracy Anderson - look her stuff up on Amazon has changed my life. It looks like she's doing HARDLY ANYTHING and then when you start to do what she tells you to do you want to HIT THE FLOOR it is amazing - the toning, the firmness. Her post-pregnancy DVD targeted to tone your tummy and the rest of your body after baby has made my tummy firmer than it was before I had Julian! And I've always been athletic! But this is unreal! I highly recommend that one and her all-around general DVD. I do both.
So, I do the gym three nights a week and the DVD honestly as much as I can - five nights a week is ideal. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WALK lol for like five days - you will need motrin, you will need aleve, you will need a bath - because you will be so sore from your muscles getting their assssses kicked but after you get over that hump of a week you won't be sore anymore!
My problem is I let myself go and stopped doing it and skipped like a month of the gym! I'm such a moron lol but I'll get back - once the jeans get tight I'm like alrrriiiiiight and I go back to being consistent. Usually five-seven pounds does it and then I reign myself in.
DH goes to the gym the other nights when I don't go - we take turns so that someone is home, obviously, when Jude is in bed.

When do you find time to exercise
I know it may not be what you want to hear, but your baby is still very young. Take her for walks, fit it in when you can, but don't put so much pressure on yourself. My baby will be six months soon, and I am just now finding the motivation and extra time to get more workouts in. Just now at six months, I am finding it to finally be getting a bit easier to find the time.

Re: When do you find time to exercise
Early in the morning around 6am, I put Jillian Michaels or T25 and work out. I was in bad shape after the holidays so just got up and started doing small workouts for like 10 mins or so and gradually building up. Once DD wakes up, I won't have time.
