High fever, no other symptoms?
My DD has some mystery fever for 4 days now. Ped said it's fine, not strep, no ear infection and to come back in 2/3 days for more tests if it doesn't go away. She is eating (not much) and drinking.
She had coxsackie last tues (Dr diagnosed). No fever, just blisters. Then fri she came down with a fever and has had it since. It will go down with motrin and she goes back to her normal self, but Tylenol doesn't really work. Motrin lasts about 5 hrs then its back up to 102.6.
Is there a fever virus going around? I always thought they lasted 12-24 hrs.

High fever, no other symptoms?
DD had a fever with no other symptoms that lasted 4-5 days. The ped said if it didn't go away to bring her back so they could test for a UTI. Thankfully it went away and was probably just a virus but he said a UTI is his usual suspect for a fever that won't go away with no other symptoms.

High fever, no other symptoms?
We just went throught this exact thing with Brielle. We just did a urine sample and she has a UTI.
She had a fever for 4 days, was at the ped, no ear infection, no strep, and at first thought teething since her 2 yr molars are coming in. However the ped said her fever was too high for teething. As a last resort we did a urine sample and its a UTI.
The ped did say somethign viral was going around, but I had a gut feeling it wasnt viral and thankfully the ped agreed.

They did the urine sample at 4 days? they are telling me wait another 2/3 days to come back and do a urine sample. That pizzes me off! Why does my baby need to be sick another 2/3 days before they check. They just think, "run-of-the-mill, oh well, whatever, the kid is sick, kids get sick". But she is suffering!
What did they do to test? Just a wet diaper?

My guess is roseola. The same thing happened to my DS. coxackie and then a few days after that, high fever for 5 days. The rash finally appeared on day 6. Roseola confirmed by pedi then.

I think they hold off bc I don't think a wet diaper is sufficient. I was afraid to ask but the ped mentioned he hoped we didn't get to that bc we probably wouldn't get a sample "the easy way". I kept putting DD on the potty the next few days and figured if I could get my hands on a sample I was bringing it in. Thankfully it didn't come to that.

High fever, no other symptoms?
DS was getting fever viruses every three weeks last year for most of the spring and summer. They did a urinalysis on him, everything was coming back normal. I asked the ped if it was common to have one after the other and he said absolutely. The last time he had a high fever it wound up being Roseola.

Re: High fever, no other symptoms?
We just went through this, was a UTI. Had to give urine sample in cup. If child cannot pee in cup then they have to catheterize.
