Info about NYC Pre-K Program
Hi,
Like many of you I have been trying to get a job teaching in a public school. It's been about 9 years but whose counting!? My certification is grades 1-6. I have 7 years experience as a classroom teacher in a private school and 2 years as a sub. I recently took some time off when my dd was born.
This could finally be my chance! It could be a way for me to get back into teaching since she will be starting school full time next year. I would be looking for the 2015-2016 school year.
I know this year they were hiring teachers with my certification to teach Pre-K. I do have experience subbing in a Pre-k classroom. Does anyone know if they will be expanding the program and hiring more teachers for next year? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!

Info about NYC Pre-K Program
I know that in my old school it was a very desirable position and many teachers within my school wanted it. My principal gave the position to someone within the school.

Re: Info about NYC Pre-K Program
Many of the new prek programs that the city is opening are in private day care centers, preschools or places outside of the actual public school buildings. In my district, I don't think there were any new prek classrooms added to any schools that didn't already exist.
