cat behavior/neutering

Fritzy has his appointment for neutering next week - what should I expect when we pick him up? I've heard that neutering is "less" of a recovery than spaying (i've only dealt with the latter), is that accurate?

Also any tips for discouraging a cat jumping on the counter? For some reason this cat loves water, and constantly wants to stick his head under the kitchen faucet (which btw is hysterical to watch). We consistenly remove him and place him on the floor, but he goes right back.... any advice appreciated!

Re: cat behavior/neutering

Lenny definitely bounced back really quickly from his neutering. We did keep him in a separate room for 2 days just so he didn't have to move around too much but he was fine about a day later.

As far as keeping Fritzy off the counter, let me know if you find something that works! We covered everything in aluminum foil, used a penny jar, a spray bottle...nothing worked. He doesn't do it often but if he wants up, nothing is stopping him!
