How soon is too soon for a big bed?
We are thinking of moving our 1 3/4 year old into a big bed with a guard rail. We need either a new crib or a new bed for her and I'm not sure if I want to spend the money for a crib only to be used for a year since we don't plan on any more children (she's #3). Has anyone moved their kid at that age? Any downsides?

How soon is too soon for a big bed?
I did with my second. It was totally fine. (We did it because we were moving and figured it was a good time to make the switch)

How soon is too soon for a big bed?
We did it at exactly 2 years. I was ready for him to be up all night long etc and he loved it and was great about staying in bed.

We moved all our kids to twin size beds on the early side. All were 15-17 months old when we switched and all 3 did great.

We moved Dd into a full size bed just after she was 2 1/2 only bc she was climbing out of her crib. Her crib converted to a full size bed, we added a guard rail.

We recently moved DD at 1 month shy of 2 years. I was very nervous, but it was overall a very smooth transition. She loves her big girl bed!

I did the same. I couldn't see myself vying a crib or a toddler bed for a year or less. We transitioned him straight into bunk beds with rails on the bottom bunk.

Thanks ladies!
We are going to transition her to a bed. Since she's #3, she wants to do want her older siblings do. She climbs into their beds every night and tucks herself in. I think she'd be very receptive to a big girl bed of her own.

My DD was in one at 15 months. The only downside is that they can get out and roam.

If it's OK I'm going to add my own question here because we have been wondering the same thing. I think my daughter would do well in a bed because she hates her crib. She's 19 months so I don't get the logistics of her being able to walk around while we are sleeping (if she gets up). How does that work?

When we moved DS at 1 we made sure all the stuff in his room was secured with child proofing stuff and put a baby gate at his door so he's confined to his room only ... It's amazing he started waking up and just chilling or playing quietly instead of screaming to get out of a crib
