Clomid Questions
Hi,
Dh and I have been ttc for 2 years now. Sperm is good, AMH is good. The only problem my RE sees is that sometimes I ovulate before I should (and release undercooked eggs). Twice, I surged before my schedule HCG shot. This cycle, I went for a sonogram on Tuesday (CD 10), my RE said to come back on Friday (CD 13) for a sonogram and HCG shot, then Saturday for IUI. I ended up getting my surge on Wednesday (CD 11). I told my RE and he said he wants to put me on clomid for days 3-7. He said that I may have a tendency to undercook my eggs and clomid will correct this.
Next month DH and I will on vacation when I am going to be Oing so we will just try naturally.
So I'm probably going to start clomid on days 3-7 in December. My questions are:
1. For girls who did clomid on days 3-7, was your ovulation date earlier than usual, later than usual or around the same?
2. In case, we can't come in for an IUI, do REs allow clomid to be done with natural intercourse? Or is it generally done with IUIs?
I'm looking at my December calendar and there is 1 day that DH would not be able to go to the RE. I'm stressing that I'm going to O the day before, and that we won't be able to do an IUI.

Clomid Questions
I have never done an IUI only ivf. One suggestion about DH not being sound when you would need him would be to freeze a sample now so that you have a back up plan. It's what we dd and I'm thankful we did
Good luck. I've heard a lot of success with clomid!

Thanks for your reply! I can have DH freeze his sperm for short term use? Like we can freeze it now and use it in December? I go to Cornell by the way.

Re: Clomid Questions
I had the hcg shot because I didn't ovulate at my usual time and most of my follicles were becoming post mature. I don't know if it was the chlomid that put me out of whack or my previous miscarriage. As for using it for regular intercourse, I know people who have. I personally did it for the iui process.

Re: Clomid Questions
If your DH has a normal sperm count, you don't really need the IUI. It's nice to have the security that you have the sperm exactly where they need to be on exactly the right day, but if you have intercourse the day before ovulation and have normal CM, that shouldn't be an issue.
On Clomid I usually ovulate around Day 20. I don't know if that means anything for you because without Clomid I ovulate around Day 40, but I've heard from a lot of "normal" women that Clomid lengthens your cycle.

Clomid Questions
I don't know how cornell works but where I go we froze about a week before. As for what the pp said I'm not so sure that is accurate. I know a friend who's DH has fine sperm count but it can differ depending upon the day and when he gives a sample....which was also the case for my DH

Clomid Questions
You don't need to do an iui but doing one does up your chances of conceiving. But I know a couple who did clomid and timed intercourse and they were successful
