Pneumonia?
My 4 year old has pneumonia. She has been sick for 9 days now. She just got diagnosed with pneumonia on Tuesday. We went 2x to pm ped and at first they said it was just an ear infection and than they said it was upper respiratory infection. I finally took her to my regular pediatrician and she said she has pneumonia. She has been on two types of antibiotics and I don't see any improvement. If your child had pneumonia when did you start seeing some improvement. Also did your child has no appetite? My dd won't eat anything and I have to force her to drink.

Mine had it last year at 14mos. First I was given albuterol with a nebulizer and an ab (forgot name started w a C). After two days I went back again bc she wanted better and they changed ab to z pack and added in pred and within a day she started to get better. I made sure to give probiotics 2 hours after the ab to balance gut flora.
She actually did eat sort of normally. I think the pred made her hungry. We used to joke she had roid rage bc it kind of hyped her up a bit.
Also doc thinks it was caused by rsv virus and she did get sick again later on that year but with broncholitus (almost pneumonia). And a few other respiratory sicknesses. I am so paranoid every time I hear her cough. Good luck!

Re: Pneumonia?
It took a few days but they were on a nebulizer with Albuterol which cleared up their lungs really fast (it made them throw up too though from all of the mucus). They were back on their feet in about a week.

Pneumonia?
My DS had pneumonia and we caught it super early. He was better after about 24 hours on the antibiotic. I think it really depends how was long they were at diagnosis.
My co-workers daughter has it now and was hospitalized.

Re: Pneumonia?
my DS had RSV but it was pretty close to becoming pneumonia. We had him on a nebulizer with albuterol a few times a day. Hope your little one feels better!

Re: Pneumonia?
my DD is 15 months and was actually just recently hospitalized for viral pneumonia. She was on the nebulizer and back and forth to the doctors but was not getting better. She would barely eat or drink. The important thing to note is her breathing, is she visibly having trouble breathing? This began happening with my DD which is why she got admitted. Hope your LO is feeling better soon
