What do you do ahead of time?

What dishes do you prepare ahead of time for Thanksgiving? I'm planning in making an apple pie and cranberry sauce tomorrow. Is there anything else I can do? Can you do stuffing the day before and then just bake it Thursday?

I am starting today with a few things - I am prepping my mac and cheese and roasting my peppers. I will also do some other prep work for things I am preparing tomorrow.

You can definitely do stuffing tomorrow. I always do it ahead of time and actually think it tastes better the next day!

Do you prep everything in the baking dish or do you cook it fully and then reheat it the next day? If you just prep it, do you add the liquid on Wednesday or do you add it Thursday before cooking?

I just prep everything, put in in the baking dish and pop it into the refrigerator. Then before I am ready to bake on thanksgiving I add a touch more broth and a little butter on top. I use a pretty heavy bakery bread for the stuffing so it holds up just fine in the liquid. If you are using a lighter bread I guess it could soggy. I have never had an issue though and have been doing it that way for years.

I already made cookies yesterday and today. they SHOULD stay good for thursday but we will see. Then tomorrow I will make the cranberry sauce, two pies (chocolate pudding and sweet potato), and prep all of the sides (chopping vegetables, etc.) The turkey and all the sides will be done thursday.

my husband made an apple pie and a blueberry pie already. he will make the raspberry and sweet potato pies on wednesday.

i've made a vegetarian mushroom gravy and shortbread dough. today i will roll out and cut the shortbread (and store it back in the fridge to bake tmrw). i'll also make cookie dough, scoop it, and put it back in the fridge to bake tmrw (cookie dough is better when it ages). i will also saute the veg, apples, and sausage for the stuffing, and i will take out the stuffing bread to defrost. i will also prep the brussel sprouts.

tomorrow i will roast the pearl onions and mushrooms, bake the cookies (inc dipping shortbread in chocolate, yum), assemble an apple crisp, maybe make another dessert, cube and stale the bread, and i'm not sure what else. i'm sure i am forgetting something.

I make all of the sides ahead of time. Depending on the side, I usually prep them and then wait to bake them until the day of.
