How many c-sections have you had?

I really want another baby, like ache for one. I have 3 beautiful children my oldest dd is 15, the. I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old. All were c-sections. I am not pregnant yet but thinking about it, I am wondering if I should just accept this is it, or go for another one. I like to think there was 8 years between my oldest and middle so more than enough time to heal

Has anyone had over 3 c-sections? How was the 4th?

If it helps my last c-section in July of 13, to went to surgery at about 845, baby was here by 915, and that was with numbing me and everything, so I am assuming minimal scar tissue and my ob didn't say not to have anymore.

I've only had 2 so far, but one of my high risk doctors said they recommend 4 sections max. On the other hand, the NP at my ob said they have a patient who had 8 Chat Icon

8?? Omg!
I have had 2 sections and I would def like another child. My OB said that 3 would be optimal but he absolutely didn't recommend more than 4

I've had 2. I'm very nervous to have a 3rd because of the c section. I plan on speaking with my doc next month to see what she says. If any hesitation, I will rule out having any more. I'm thinking let your OB look at your chart and see what they advise

I've had two. My doctor said four is pushing it. I have a friend who had and continues to have major complications with her fourth c section. I personally wouldn't have more than three. But I think everyone is different.

I know of someone who has 7 kids, all c-sections. Speak to your OB and see what they say. (Although I'm not promoting 7 c-sections, lol)

Re: How many c-sections have you had?

My third c section will be on March 26th. My first two boys are 18 months apart. My 2nd will be 3 on April 19th so almost exactly 3 years apart from my 2nd to my 3rd. So three c sections in 5 years time. I asked to have my tubes tied and because of my age my dr wouldn't do it so obviously he thinks I could have another in the future. If I had 4 c sections I would absolutely get fixed. I have heard of people having more than 4 but I believe each one is more dangerous than the last.

How many c-sections have you had?

This is why I was so upset about having a c-section with my first in November. I've always wanted a big family and this makes it more difficult. Has anyone been able to have a successful VBAC?

Re: How many c-sections have you had?

I had one. My cousin has three children, all born via csection. Some doctors try to limit family size for csection moms, but I think each case is individualized.

Yes! There are quite a few of us on LIF that did. There are also groups like ICAN and local LI groups for c-section support and VBAC information.

How many c-sections have you had?

A woman I worked with had 6. She had a lot of complications with the last and they didn't recommend her getting pregnant again - but first 5 she had no issues..

How many c-sections have you had?

One and only one :) One was all I needed

I never wanted a natural birth.. EVER
Since in NY its so frowned upon to say "cut me instead" I was very very grateful that she was always breech .. happiest mama ever until I had to suffer contractions for 9hours.

How many c-sections have you had?

I was nervous about my 3rd too, but it wa soooo super easy! I walked out of the hospital. I don't dven know what I am nervous about. I wish I tried to vbac with my second. My heart aches for another one, sometimes I feel like I am being selfish, I have three healthy beautiful children, but I just love them, and I love babies and I feel like if I have a 4th it would complete my family. I don't have that feeling. I would definitely get my tubes tied with a fourth. As a matter of fact, when I was having my third, my ob asked if I wanted my tubes tied and I said I wasn't sure and he said if you think you may want another one don't tie your tubes unless your %100 sure you're done.

What kind of complications from the c-sections?

Re: How many c-sections have you had?

I've had 2 and plan to have a 3rd one day. My doctor doesn't recommend more than 4, but everything depends on the individual, the scar tissue and how things healed.
