Children's Zyrtec
did it help your child with their seasonal allergies? Benedryl and Claritin have done nothing and thinking of switching to this. DD has itchy eyes, bumps on face..she's miserable. Any side effects or anything to watch out for? TIA

Children's Zyrtec
Ds has been taking it...he mainly has postnasal drip which is causing a nonstop cough. It seems to be working. I started taking some of his because I have the same problem. I feel like it has really dried things up. No noticeable side effects.

Hylands also has an allergy med. I like their other products and are more natural. Worth a shot.

Re: Children's Zyrtec
My son was so bad this year his allergist put him on a steroid nasal spray.. He ended up in the emergency room in early April because he had difficulty breathing... He is on Claritin, Nasonex, and benadryl. He has an air purifier in his room too.. He was so bad today.

Re: Children's Zyrtec
Both my boys have been on zyrtec for over 2 years. It really helps & find giving prior to bed is best. They are also on nasonex nasal spray & script eye drops

To answer your question, Zyrtec did work better for him but it made him tired and gave him night terrors. He was on it around age 3.5 for a few months. He is now 5.5...

Re: Children's Zyrtec
My kids have terrible drip and cough from allergies this week. Claritin has been doing nothing and I just switched to zyrtec and it seems to be helping. I give it to them before school. I do notice before bed it wears off, but I only want to dose once a day.

Re: Children's Zyrtec
I gave a little to DD and it definitely seemed to help, though she didn't have allergies nearly as bad as mine. But in the future if hers gets worse, I will definitely stick with Zyrtec.

Re: Children's Zyrtec
Zyrtec made my ds very anxious and sleepy. He would always wake up during the night. I used it for 2 years before I realized this was the source.
