Question about internals
When do the docs typically start doing them? I'm almost 31 weeks.

Question about internals
Depends on the practice. Mine doesn't do them, at least they never did when I was pg last year w/ DD1. Not even when I got the GBS swab done at 36 weeks. I figured they'd at least check while i had my pants off lol.

Question about internals
On average 35/36 weeks. I'm high risk with a history of preterm deliveries and see my OB every 2 weeks even though I'm only 26 weeks but get cervical checks every appointment.

Re: Question about internals
Good to know - thanks, I was wondering myself! Seems like the average is 36 weeks when you're weekly.

Re: Question about internals
At my last appointment, I think my doctor mentioned they will start at 36 weeks and then do it weekly. I was wondering, for those whose practices do them, if they explained the rationale to you? I'm just confused about the purpose weekly cervical exam if you're at a regular pregnancy. Aren't they just (slightly) increasing the potential of infection or early membrane rupture? Just curious if anyone has had this conversation with their doctor (and possibly convinced them to not do this every week?)
