Wth my ds I started at 22 weeks with suppositories and was on them until 34 weeks.

I'm 12 weeks today and still on it. I go to a group where they make you see a different OB each time, so I've gotten 3 different answers (12 weeks, 9 weeks and "we'll see," which was last night's answer). I'll be following this thread as well, since I'm basically my own OB.

I began 2 days after ovulation and am 13wks today. My OB had told me at my 12wk appointment to just finish out the week so I guess last night was my last dosage. I was curious how long others stay on it.

I was on suppositories and shots together until 8 weeks. My OB told me it was "old-fashioned" to stay on progesterone past 10 weeks, but he was ok with me staying on until 12. So I did, because I didn't mind them and figured they could only help. But the day after I stopped taking them, I bled. I got scared, so I took them for 2 more weeks.

I was on pio til I was 8 weeks pregnant. I was happy to stop! From the literature I read 6-8 weeks is sufficient.

I was on PIO (progesterone in oil) injections from 3 days post IVF transfer to about 9-10 weeks. Was super happy to stop as I was running out of real estate on my a$$ to give the injections!

Took Crinone each pregnancy from about 5-6 weeks until 12-13 weeks. I had low progesterone with all three and had to supplement once a day.

I was told I could stop it at 11weeks since the placenta then starts making its own progesterone.
Spinoff question... did anyone else feel "down in the dumps" the few days after stopping it?

That's what my OB told me also. She said usually it makes sense to stop around 10 weeks, so going as far as we did (to 13) was probably overkill, but oh well.
To answer, no, I haven't really felt anything emotionally. I've been so tired though since beginning progesterone so I hope that part goes away as I've been done with it now for a couple days.

Same. My OB told me from the beginning it would only be until the end of my first trimester. Despite a little bit of bleeding that occurred after i stopped.
