Laundry question
What do you do regarding drying your clothes? A setting, timed, clothes line?

Re: Laundry question
Work tops and bottoms are done in a separate load and hung up immediately. I can go a few washings in between ironing. I hate the chemicals in dry cleaning.
I have a decorative shower rod above my washer/dryer and hang all shirts on hangers to dry, even the kids stuff. Once dried they go right in their closets.
As I have solar panels, and I'm cheap, I've been trying to only use my dryer for sheets/bath towels to bank the solar credits as a clothes dryer uses a lot of electricity. I have three drying racks and hang everything else on them. By the morning everything is dry, easy to fold and put away.
Sheets/towels are done first thing every Sat morning. Two to three loads and right back on the bed. Who has the time and patience to fold a fitted sheet?

Laundry question
hang on cloth line it saves on $$ and better for the environment.
I like ^ poster at times I wash, dry and put sheets on the bed right away. If I have time and I am around, this way I don't have to fold.
after I hang I will put sheets/towels in the dryer to soften. Most of my cloth go on the line

Re: Laundry question
I hang dry almost all of my clothing except pjs, socks and panties. Those get thrown in the dryer with everyone else's clothing and the sheets/ towels.

Re: Laundry question
For years I didn't have a dryer so I would always hang everything to dry. Now I have a dryer & I hardly use it so far. But I do like to machine dry my towels, because I find when I air dry them they get a moldy smell, yuck. In the winter I will probably use it more.

Re: Laundry question
My clothes all get hung. I don't like the dryer- it shrinks everything and ruins it in my opinion.
I use a clothes line and a drying rack.
Nothing goes in the dryer for me- except socks.
(and sheets and towels of course)

Re: Laundry question
Everything that doesn't shrink goes into the dryer. I take it all out right before the dryer stops and fold. Nothing ever needs ironing.
For clothes that tend to shrink, I put in dryer for 10 minutes to get the excess dampness off and washer wrinkles out and hang them outside or on clothes rack in the house. When dry, I'll toss them in the dryer to soften up a bit.
My skin is so sensitive to clothes that aren't fluffed from the dryer. I feel like I'm wearing loose leaf paper.

Laundry question
I dry all delicates in the dryer for 10m only. It takes out excess water and wrinkles. Then everything gets hung. I only dry sheets, towels and sweats that I wear to bed.

Laundry question
I don't dry synthetic workout clothes, sweaters, skirts, dress pants, nice tops, scarves, etc. I have a high quality, sturdy drying rack where I hang my clothes. Socks, pajamas, tanks, sheets, and towels all go in the dryer. I also dry all of DS' clothes.

Re: Laundry question
I never hang anything.
The stuff that is nice gets dry cleaned.
The regular stuff gets washed on delicate and then put in the dryer on delicate.
I have a front loading, really great machine and the gentle cycle is wonderful - never shrinks anything.

Re: Laundry question
I wish I wasn't so lazy or I'd hang dry more. It's just too easy to throw in the dryer and call it a day I'm probably shrinking and ruining a lot that way. I also HATE folding laundry, so I tend to leave the last load in the dryer and we throw it on in the morning to get the wrinkles out of whatever we want to wear So. Freaking. Lazy

Re: Laundry question
Most of my laundry gets washed cold in the washing machine on a quick cycle and dried in the drier. I read labels so this is okay for about 95% of my clothes. I yoyo in my weight so I do not think my clothes are shrinking.
I recently wore a few shirts that were machine wash cold and hang dry. I have so few of them that I am washing them by hand and hanging them dry.
I never knew bathing suits should not be put in the machine, so starting recently I hand washed them and hung them to dry.

Re: Laundry question
Wow, shocked that so many people hang clothes. I pretty much put everything in the dryer. I rarely need to iron that way. When the clothes come out of the washer they are usually pretty wrinkled. Do the wrinkles just come out (esp. tshirts) when you hang them?

Re: Laundry question
I throw most things in the dryer. I only hang or lay flat things that specifically say to or are dry clean only.I hate dry cleaning and just wash most of it on delicate unless it's obvious that it will ruin the item.
Unless I strung a line across my back yard, I don't know where I'd hang everything to dry even if I wanted to. My laundry room is in the basement so I'd be concerned with it maybe getting musty (although my basement doesn't have a water problem).

I let them air dry then if they seem wrinkly I will throw them in the dryer on a tumble press setting Best thing ever. Wrinkles come out but the clothes are already dry so they don't ever shrink
